Schedule directly here: calendly.com/russel-morgan/30min.
Pick a slot, briefly describe your situation, and you’ll get a confirmation. This is an informational consultation to understand your estate and explain your options.
Service area
We focus on probate and estate administration across the five boroughs:
| Borough | County | Surrogate’s Court |
|---|---|---|
| Manhattan | New York | 31 Chambers St, New York, NY 10007 |
| Brooklyn | Kings | 2 Johnson St, Brooklyn, NY 11201 |
| Queens | Queens | Queens County Surrogate’s Court |
| Bronx | Bronx | Bronx County Surrogate’s Court |
| Staten Island | Richmond | Richmond County Surrogate’s Court |
Your estate belongs to the court of the borough where the decedent was domiciled (SCPA 205-206). Not sure which one? That’s the first thing we’ll sort out.
What to bring to your consultation
To make the most of 30 minutes, gather what you can:
- The original will (or a copy if that’s all you have for now)
- A death certificate, if available
- A rough list of assets — especially how the home is held (co-op shares, condo deed, or jointly owned)
- The names and contact details of the closest relatives (potential distributees)
- Any beneficiary-designation information (life insurance, retirement accounts)
Even partial information lets us orient you toward the right borough court and the right process.
What to expect
The consult is a focused conversation, not a sales pitch. We’ll confirm which Surrogate’s Court applies, identify whether the matter is a probate or an administration, flag any co-op-transfer or estate-tax wrinkles, and outline what comes next. You’ll leave knowing your options.
Contact and response
Booking through the Calendly link above is the most reliable way to reach us and reserve a confirmed time. For firm contact details and address, refer to the canonical firm information at Morgan Legal Group’s primary site. We aim to confirm consultations promptly; complex estates may warrant a longer follow-up session.
A note on directions
If you’re filing in person, the Manhattan Surrogate’s Court at 31 Chambers Street sits at the corner of Chambers and Centre in Lower Manhattan, and the Brooklyn court at 2 Johnson Street is in the Civic Center near Cadman Plaza. All five borough courts also accept filings through NYSCEF, so many steps can be handled without traveling to the courthouse.
